s-bag® classic is made of a high quality paper which is biodegradable.

s-bag® ultra long performance is to be used only once. The synthetic material is made of a combination of polypropylene and polyester, materials giving off nothing toxic when burnt with household waste, only water and carbon dioxide.

s-bag® classic long performance, HEPA anti-allergy and anti-odour are all made of synthetic material, called polypropylene (PP). This material gives off nothing toxic when burnt with household waste, only water and carbon dioxide.

What is polypropene (PP)? PP is a thermoplastic polymer widely used in applications such as textiles, plastic parts, food packaging and reusable containers. This polymer is resistant to many chemical solvents and has the following resin identification code:

The chemical and physical properties of polypropylene make it an excellent choice for dust bags. It is flexible, insensitive to the high temperatures inside the cleaner, has a high tensile strength and can come in any color. Since PP is more durable than alternative materials, products which are made out of this polymer do not have to be replaced as often.

Polypropylene is a good choice for you who are environmentally concerned. Unlike PVC, this polymer does not give off any chlorine when burnt, only water vapour and carbon dioxide, which is converted by photosynthesis. It is a chemically inert product. When polypropylene is burnt no extra fuel needs to be added. It's degradable simply by burning compared to other similar materials.

In the s-bag® a cardboard collar is used which is made of recycled multiboard, the same as for the packaging for the different products, but with different thickness and stiffness well adjusted to the cleaner models. This material is also recyclable and biodegradable. A plastic collar can in some cases also be used. However, this is made of polypropylene, the same material as in the synthetic dust bags with slightly different characteristics, but with the same basic conditions.

The packaging used for the s-bag® products is made of recycled multiboard, a material used in many packaging applications, that fulfils the technical and environmental requirements set within Electrolux. This material is recyclable as well and the printing is water-based, protected with a non-toxic coating. The finished products are protected and transported in cardboard boxes which are both recyclable and biodegradable.
